Upside Down Baby

Well, Blake really is a pretty good big sister, but what's a big sister without a little mischief?! Blake is constantly making sure Wyatt has a toy when he's playing in his chair, activity center or on the floor. Even when he constantly throws the toys out of reach, she still gets up and gives it to him - very sweet! Now for the not so sweet, Bob and I were moving some tables outside to get ready for a dinner with friends (Bob is still on crutches by the way - more on that later). Bob went back in the house to check on the kids, and he found Wyatt sitting in his rocking chair UPSIDE DOWN!!! Blake likes to rock him a little too hard, and she managed to completely put the boy on his head - UGH!!! One of those proud parenting moments for sure. Wyatt was fine (he was strapped into the chair). In other news, Wyatt has found a new favorite sleeping position (see pics below). Guess he decided it was easier just to bury his face in the mattress than to have to keep pulling the blanket over his head.

After I posted about Wyatt's first tooth on the 15th, I got done on the computer to find that Wyatt suddenly had a second tooth on the bottom. So, our little guy has his two bottom front teeth!

Lauren took Wyatt out to do a little shopping in Billings. Daddy stayed home with Blake. Poor Wyatt isn't much of a shopping partner. He was asleep before we even left Laurel.

Now for the Bob update, he went to his appointment last week and was told that he needed to keep the walking boot on and still use the crutches. He's supposed to slowly put pressure on it until he'll eventually be walking with the boot without crutches (maybe by Sept. 1st). Hopefully for him, all will go well and he'll be walking soon.

Back to Wyatt, he's eaten pretty much every Gerber First Food possible. It is hilarious to watch this boy eat. Whenever you feed him something that he doesn't like, he fusses AS HE'S EATING IT!!! That's right, he doesn't spit it out; he doesn't refuse to eat it; nope, this kid just kinda yells at you while he still downs whatever is put in his mouth. It is hilarious! Also on the Wyatt front, he is quite mobile in his rolling and squirming to get to what he wants. He can cover our living room floor in no time. Needless to say, it can be a little frustrating for Blake when she's trying to keep certain toys out of his reach. Wyatt doesn't stand up very well, though. Blake used to stand on your lap if you'd hold her sides at this age, but Wyatt doesn't seem too interested. Of course, it may take his little legs a while to even be able to hold the 23 pound load that is now Wyatt ;)

Blake is just as busy, busy, busy as ever. She definitely keeps Lauren on her toes most days. She has recently been a little self-conscious. She suddenly wants to dress and undress in her own bedroom. When Lauren tried to change her pants the other day when company was over, she was not going to do it in the living room. We had to go to her bedroom. It's just funny to watch how the awareness grows in these little tikes. Now back to the little mischievous Blake, Lauren was fixing dinner, Wyatt was in his rocking chair in the living room and Blake was watching cartoons in the living room and playing. Lauren suddenly hears hysterical laughter from both kids - rarely a good sign. Then Lauren hears Blake yell, "Mom, Wyatt can catch!" Lauren walked into the living room to find Blake chucking objects at Wyatt, who would laugh hysterically as they hit his belly, head, you name it. The objects would typically land in Wyatt's lap or next to him in his seat. Blake continued, "He catch it, Mom...what a good boy!" Fearing it'll only get worse from here!
