We almost forgot one of the funniest Blake stories of our trip to Oklahoma. When we were in the airport waiting for our plane, Blake went to look out the windows at all the airplanes and Lauren & Wyatt were seated nearby watching her. Another little boy about Blake's age (maybe a little older) came over next to her and was talking to her and looking out the window with her. The next thing Lauren knows the little boy is running back to his mom screaming, "I kiss her! I kiss her!" From where Lauren was sitting, she didn't get a very good view of the action, so she asked Blake about it when she came back to sit down.
Lauren: Did that boy kiss you?
Blake (very nonchalant): Yep.
Lauren: Did he kiss you on the cheek or on the lips?
Blake: On the wips.
So, there ya have it. At almost 3 years old, Blake got her very first kiss - SCARY!!!
When we got back from Oklahoma it was time to start Wyatt on solids. Our pediatrician recommends starting them between 4 and 6 months old, but Lauren decided to wait until after 6 months...so we didn't have to worry about it on vacation :) So far he seems to prefer bananas and green beans, but the only others we've tried are peaches & pears. And, he downs the rice cereal without a problem. Here's the big boy sitting up in what is going to be his "high chair".
Blake really does just love her baby brother. She likes to play with him and is a very big helper to her momma. The other day she wanted to take a nap with Wyatt. Lauren didn't actually let her take a nap, but she did get to lay in the crib with him. Here's the two goof balls hanging out in Wyatt's crib.

Wyatt is becoming even more vocal these days and more in a good way than in the crying sort of way that he's been known for. He's said "ma ma" for a very long time now, but he also says "ba ba" "da da" and several other consenant sounds in his gibberish. He's also really starting to sit up without support. Here he is playing with a toy that Blake picked out for him.

He's starting to sit up so much that it's hard to put him in his rocking seat without him wanting to buck himself. He really gets it rocking, but he hasn't taken a dive out of it...yet.
We had a little birthday for Blake at the house even though she had one in Oklahoma. She was so excited to open up all of her "mail" (cards). She got quite a bit of birthday money, so we let her go shopping for a few birthday toys. But before we get to that, here's how her birthday went: We got up really early to take Dad to work (still not driving with the cast). Then we went to Perkins for breakfast because Blake wanted chicken strips and a cookie for her birthday breakfast. We then went to Target to pick out some birthday toys. It was SO funny to watch Blake shop. She went through every toy isle first, then she went back and picked out what she wanted. She ended up with a pair of Cars roller skates and a set of Toy Story 3 figurines. I was so proud of her. She picked out some really good toys. Jessie and Bullseye pretty much go everywhere with us, and Blake has had a blast skating both inside and outside. Lauren told Blake that when she was little she fell down a whole bunch before she got good at skating, so when Blake fell down the first time she said, "that ok, Mom...I just little". She also fell when she was skating outside and she got up all by herself and kept on skating. Here's a picture of our little roller blader ;)

After Blake picked out her toys, we took Daddy to his doctor's appointment. They split the cast and took x-rays. He's in a walking boot now, but he's been instructed not to walk or put any pressure on it for another two weeks - poor guy!!! This has been quite the ordeal for him. Good news is that everything looks like it's healing well - just more waiting. Between dealing with Bob's foot, we managed to get in a birthday lunch at Red Robin and a free birthday cupcake at Barnes & Noble. Later that evening, Blake had a Cold Stone ice cream birthday cake - YUM!!! Blake is part of the Barnes & Noble Kids Club so not only did she get a free cupcake, she also created a book for free at www.tikatok.com. Lauren helped her create her book All About Me, so hopefully there wasn't much lost in the translation - ENJOY!!!
