Gameday

Blake's first college gameday in Oklahoma was complete with all the gear she needed to please the family. She started her day off cuddling with Grandma on the couch. She got plenty of attention regardless of the football distractions. Grandma and Grandpa preferred to see our little girl in her OU onesie and socks...

...while Uncle Chris and Aunt Katie thought she should have an OSU sleeper so she could "sleep in the winning team's colors".

Visiting Family

Lauren and Blake got a chance to head to Ponca City last weekend. They got to visit with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Kramer, Great-Grandpa Kenneth, Great-Uncle Earl, Grandma & Grandpa, Uncle Chris & Aunt Katie, and several other friends that stopped by to visit. Blake traveled pretty well, and Lauren found that most people are extremely helpful when they see a person traveling alone with a little one. Here is a picture of Uncle Chris and Blake.

Playing in the Snow

We're a little behind on getting the blog updated, so please bare with us as we bombard the site with new pictures over the next couple of days. The snow finally stopped after about four days, and we ended up with 22 inches total. We don't have big trees in our back yard, but the heavy snow forced the neighbor to share his with us.

Still Snowing

It's still snowing! It is supposed to stop sometime tonight/tomorrow from what we've heard, but who knows. It's about 29 degrees right now, and the wind chill is 19. The highs are in the upper 30's for the next couple days, and then we are supposed to get closer to the 50's by Thursday. We've already gotten 8 inches of snow, but it's better than Red Lodge (where I used to work) where they are up to 26 inches already. It's not done yet either. The weatherman is saying possibly another 1 - 2 feet before it's all over...YUCK!!! There are a couple more pictures below. The first one has the front of the boat on the right. Bob didn't have the cover over it because he was supposed to go fishing this weekend, so that'll be a nice project later in the day...that along with shoveling the drive. The second picture shows the front of the CRV. We actually ran some errands yesterday, so the snow on the hood is just the accumulation from last night. We noticed there were a couple tree branches blocking our street when we stepped out to get the newspaper this morning. The snow is really wet and heavy, so it'll be interesting to see how many trees have become victims. Our electricity has dimmed a few times, but we haven't lost power. We'll keep our fingers crossed on that one. Well, we hope everyone else is having much better weather. We were completely jealous watching college football yesterday...everyone in t-shirts looking comfortable...O WELL!

Winter is here!

We (well...just Lauren) were hoping that the snow would slow down over night, but this is what the front drive looked like this morning. And, it's still snowing!

It was going to happen eventually, but it just seems like we should have had some more Fall weather instead of just jumping straight into Winter. It is supposed to warm up into the forty's and even possibly mid-fifty's over the next week and a half or so. The Oklahoma/Texas people are probably laughing at the fact that we really do consider that to be worthy of the words "It's gonna warm up later this week.". The poor kids around here always have to pick out Halloween costumes that they can fit warm weather gear under...or ones that extra layers can be easily added. It is quite entertaining for Lauren who did not really have to worry about that kind of stuff growing up. But, many say that Montana only has two seasons: Construction and Winter.

Great News...and SNOW!!!

Well, it just so happens that Lauren was able to get a couple days off of work to head to Ponca City. Yes, it's true! So, hopefully, we'll get to show little Blake off sooner than we had imagined. Bob isn't going to be able to make it, but Lauren is really looking forward to getting to see everyone. In other news, Blake had her 2 month doctor's appointment today, and the little chunk is up to 11 pounds 8 ounces...AMAZING!!! She got her first round of immunizations at the appointment. Here's a picture of her little Tweety Bird band-aids.

She was a little tuckered out after the appointment.

Well, it had to happen sometime. It started snowing here last night, and it has been snowing ever since. This is a picture from this morning. The forcast is calling for 9 inches. Bob is excited to see winter get here, but Lauren is not at all ready for what is being hyped up as possibly being a "true" Montana winter. Everyone has been saying that when the first big snow comes this early it means that we are going to have a long, cold one...who knows!

The weather has changed our plans for this weekend, though. Bob is not going to go fishing, and Lauren isn't going to make the trip down to Worland to see Jess :( She was really looking forward to meeting Beckett, but she doesn't want to have to worry about the roads...and possibly getting snowed in. Hope all is well, and we can't wait to see the Ponca people next week.

Two Months Old

Blake is officially two months old! Funny...it actually seems like it has been longer than that. But, that could be a product of the lack of sleep. Speaking of, Blake was a little fussy last night and Bob was nice enough to take care of her through the night and let Lauren sleep. It must have been a pretty rough one for everybody because this is what the scene was this morning. You can even see Maddie sleeping on the floor next to Bob...it was quite the sight!

Another Blake story from yesterday, we were getting ready to change/feed Blake and Lauren set her down on the changing table, turned around to grab a diaper, and when she turned back around she found Blake already fast asleep. It was hilarious! She went from screaming for food to sleeping in .2 seconds.

Bob and his dad are going to go fishing next weekend, so his dad and grandma decided to come down early and hang out with his aunt Joyce. They stopped by to see Blake yesterday, and we got some pretty good pictures. Blake sure got a kick out of Aunt Joyce.

And she even gave her great-grandma DeCoteau some smiles.

Blake is really starting to be able to keep her head steady and hold it up much more. She still does the occasional nose dive into your chest when you're trying to get her to hold her head up, though. She is also starting to add some consenant sounding noises to the vowel ones (oo's, ah's, etc.) that she has been making for quite some time.

She still likes to rest her head on daddy's chest even though she can hold her head up if she wants to. It's pretty cute to see such a little girl cuddling with Bob.

Well, we're finding it very difficult to get pictures posted during the week, so you may find that we post pictures from the week on Friday and then from the same weekend on that Sunday. We hope everyone is doing well, and we can't wait to actually introduce Blake in person to everyone at some point. Lauren is off to visit her friend Jess and her new baby boy, Beckett, this weekend while Bob goes fishing. And, she hopes to plan a visit to the Oklahoma area sometime next year. Unfortunately, she probably won't be able to make it any sooner than that. Best wishes to all!

More Blakers

It's been a while since we've posted some pictures, and Grandma is getting antsy to see more of little Blakers; so, here's the last week or so. Bob and Lauren are staying busy with work, and Lauren recently accepted a Project Manager position that was offered her at work. The new position has already proven to be a bit of a challenge, but Lauren is really excited to learn from the experience. Copa has officially become our portable baby monitor. She is so concerned anytime Blake makes any sort of noise. It is actually quite handy, because we can put her down in any room...and Copa lets us know when Blake is starting to wake up.
Maddie still just wants to play all the time, but she knows not to be rough around Blake. Maddie will lay her head on your shoulder when you ask her to give you "hugs". The other day Lauren was on the floor with Blake petting Maddie, and Maddie put her head in Blake's lap like she was giving her a hug. It was so cute! Bob is still enjoying being a daddy, and Blake sure looks for him when she hears his voice.

Blake still sleeps quite a bit. She will fall asleep nearly anywhere.

Blake likes to help Daddy read the newspaper.

What a goofy girl!

She is getting so big...and she still looks a lot like her Daddy.
