Six Month Pics

Blake had her six month pictures taken today. So, of course, we HAVE to post more pictures of our beautiful baby girl. She didn't actually seem very interested in giving us too many smiles at first, so we decided to try a pose with her just in her diaper (she was getting a little too hot). She was as happy as could be to get those clothes off...O WELL!

Blake's Boyfriend

Lauren got the chance to visit with two of her good friends from college, Suzi and Jess, this weekend. Suzi has a 2 month old, Gracie, and Jess has a 5 month old, Beckett. Here's a cute picture of Blake and Beckett hanging out on the old single seater that was originally Jess's (Beckett's mom) from college. She was so kind as to pass it along to Lauren, and we amazingly still have it.It is so nice to have friends with children really close to the same age as Blake. It is going to be so much fun as the kids grow up. Here's a little video of Blake and her first "boyfriend", Beckett. Beckett is almost exactly one month younger than Blake, but you sure wouldn't guess it by looking at that long, skinny, little boy. Blake seemed to be pretty shy at first, but she eventually starting talking back. It is just great to have such wonderful friends fairly close by.

Funny Girl

Blake is just getting to be more fun every day! The first couple of months has to be the worst, but now she is more active and more entertaining...which is great on the budget. She has recently discovered her tongue. So, it is almost impossible to keep a pacifier in her mouth. But, it turns out that's not so bad. She is a pretty happy baby and that makes things much easier on Mom and Dad. Going back to the tongue thing, she now makes the noises you will hear in the video ALL the time. She went on for over 5 minutes when we shot this video...we cut it down to closer to 3. It is absolutely hilarious! Lauren used to make these noises at Blake all the time, and she would smile and giggle. Little did she know that Blake would start to mimick the noises. Note to self (on the next child): avoid making such noises that can cause quite a spray when the little one figures it out. Hope all is well with everyone. We are back into the single digit temperatures which actually makes sense for Montana in January; but, Lauren is ready for summer...it might be a long wait.

Monday's Adventures

Lauren had one more day to hang out with Blake before going back to work on Tuesday. We got some more pictures of Blake, and Copa even posed for a picture with our baby. It was really warm (well...warm for Montana right now) today, so we got bundled up and went outside for a little while. Blake hung out in her stroller while Lauren and the dogs picked up the front yard and played. After so much fun outside, Blake took a good afternoon nap. Here's our happy girl after her nap. Blake spent some time before dinner practicing sitting up by herself. Blake was sitting up when Lauren tried to take the first picture, but this is what we got...too funny! Here's a progression of Blake going from sitting...to leaning...to REALLY leaning...to trying out some time on her tummy...to saying, "ENOUGH...I give up!".

Another Video

Here's another video. Blake and Lauren were playing after a diaper change.

First Solids

As you may have already read, Blake started eating rice cereal this past week. She actually took to it right away without much protest. You can see in the video that when she gets excited she kicks her feet and it wiggles her little body and the high chair. It is pretty funny when she gets going. She has also started making loud razzing noises. You'll see in the video that this coupled with formula/rice cereal can create quite the spray.

Squealing Kiddo

It has been quite a while since we last posted, but there really hasn't been too much excitement in our world. Here's a picture of Blake sporting her first pair of Nike shoes. Of course, Uncle Chris and Aunt Katie got them for her for Christmas. Lauren got to spend this whole past week at home with Blake, so it was nice to actually get things cleaned up around the house. And, Blake even got her first shot at rice cereal. She actally did really well and has continued to have one little meal a day this week. We do have some video footage of it, so we'll get that posted as soon as we can edit it. Surely no one (with the exception of Grandma) wants to wade through the 15+ minutes of video online. So, here's a picture for now.Lauren did have time to go through and edit some video of Blake singing?! We can't really call it a scream because that makes it sound like she is unhappy...you'll just have to listen. Beware if your volume is turned up too high, though. It gets pretty high pitched.

Otherwise, Lauren got the chance to meet her good friend from college, Jess, and her two children, Natalie & Beckett, this week for a quick lunch date when they came into Billings for a doctor's appointment. It was great to get to hang out even if it was only for a little bit. And, Lauren had plans to visit another friend, Suzi, and her two little girls, Claire & Gracie, today; but poor Gracie (2 months old) had to head in to see the doctor. She just hasn't been feeling well, so we sure hope she gets to feeling better soon. That's it for now. We'll post some more video sometime today or this weekend.

Our Little Giggler

Well, Blake's officially 5 months old tomorrow! It is amazing just how big she has grown in such a short period of time. She is really starting to be a lot of fun...4-5 months old has been our favorite age yet. Blake is pretty vocal as you can tell from some of the video footage, and she still laughs and giggles when you undress her. Here's a short video clip from last night when we were getting her undressed for a bath. You just can't help but smile when you hear that little giggle.

Noisy Girl

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We were complete lame-o's last night as we were both in bed asleep by 9 p.m. We were still a little tuckered out from the Christmas vacation, so it felt great to get some good sleep. Blake started sleeping through the night again as soon as we got home...guess adults aren't the only ones who prefer their own beds. So, it was wonderful not to have to be up in the middle of the night and especially not to have to sleep on the floor/couch with her. Anyway, here's a video from the last couple days. Our little girl sure likes to talk!
