Photo Shoot

So when it rains, it pours! We just got the pics back from the photographer today, so we just had to post them (most of them anyway). This was supposed to be Wyatt's 3 month photo shoot, but we ended up with more good pics of Blake - go figure! Blake was playing with a straw hat (a prop) while Wyatt was fussing, so the photographer took a few pics of our goofy girl.

And, here are the rest of the good ones of Blake.

And FINALLY, the pics of Wyatt.

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Hoppy Easter!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!! We've had a ton of fun so far today, so we'll just share it with a whole bunch of pics. Here's the loot the Easter bunny left for the kiddos.
Blake got a goodie bag at church this morning. It had a candy bracelet in it that she fell in love with immediately.
Blake checking out her bath markers...
...and puzzle...
...and toss kit (velcro mitts with bean bags that you toss and catch)...
...and here she is wearing her Easter bracelet.
Yeah, he doesn't even phase me anymore. - Blake
FINALLY, a somewhat decent picture of the kiddos.
This was the extent of Wyatt's Easter egg hunting.

Just hangin'
It is such a beautiful day here today. A definite change from all the snow we got last week. The dogs were even enjoying the outdoor Easter festivities. Here's Maddie...
...and Copa.
Blake LOVES bubbles, so of course she got some in her Easter basket. We didn't even think about Copa's love of chasing flying objects (thrown dirt or water, frisbees, balls, etc.). Copa had a blast chasing and popping bubbles along with Blake. Copa would run them down, jump up and bite at them in the air - it was hilarious! Here she is in action.
We're not really sure who is waiting more in anticipation here, Blake or Copa?!
Here's a closeup of Copa just before she nearly took out the camera man - chasing bubbles of course :)
Blake playing with her bubble wand.
When the bubble fun began, we had to relocate Wyatt to a shady spot upwind of the bubbles so he wouldn't get clobbered by a toddler or dog for that matter. Here's our little guy hanging in the shade sunning his legs.
Blake ended her morning fun by taking a drive around the back yard.
Everyone is now napping and/or relaxing at our house. We're all looking forward to a wonderful ribeye dinner with asparagus and deviled eggs - YUM!!! Hope everyone is enjoying this Easter Sunday as well!

My Ladies' Man

Wyatt was supposed to have his 3 month pictures taken on Tuesday, but our little guy threw such a fit that we finally decided to reschedule for Thursday. Well, Thursday really didn't go much better. This boy must not like having his picture taken ;) Anyway, we did end up with a few decent pics that I'll post as soon as I get them from the photographer. As soon as we left the studio, Wyatt was perfectly content. What a stinker?! Here's our ladies' man hanging out after the photo shoot.
We decided to dye Easter eggs today, so here's a bunch of pics:

Blake had a lot of fun dunking the eggs.

The final product
Wyatt at least got to touch an egg.

Our smiley guy
Blake accidentally crushed one of the eggs. She was a little upset at first, but once she figured out she could eat it all was OK.
HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!!!

Tired of Listening

We've taken a few more pictures the last couple days. Lauren has especially been taking a lot of pictures on her phone. It's amazing what two years of technology can do. We don't have any pictures of Blake taken off of a phone, and poor Wyatt might not get as many off of the digital camera like all of Blake's. Here's our little guy sporting some elephant jammies in his crib. Blake still LOVES to go outside whenever the weather is decent enough for her to do so. She played really hard the other day and when she came in, she CRASHED! Wyatt has been doing a pretty good job of sleeping at night. He fights naps during the day and rarely sleeps for more than an hour at a time with the exception of one good 2-3 hour nap around 2 p.m. or so. He's also able to pull the pacifier out of his own mouth now, so that doesn't help. Last night he slept for 9 hours straight, though! He usually goes to bed around 7 p.m., so Lauren is hoping that he keeps sleeping a little bit longer every night until he's a 7-7 baby like Blake was (well, Blake was more like 6:30-5)...fingers crossed. The last three nights he's slept an hour longer than the night before, so let's hope he keeps that pace up ;) Wyatt also likes talking, cooing and he really likes taking his baths. Here's a closeup of our little guy after a bath. Blake is really starting to show off her personality. You can just see her attitude in pictures and especially when you're dealing with her in person. In fact, yesterday she said to Lauren, "I'm tired of listening to you, Mom." Lauren wasn't expecting that phrase to come out until closer to the teenage years...sheesh! Here's little miss priss eating some fruit loops on the couch. Blake is very sweet to Wyatt. She talks to him and comforts him when he's fussy. Lauren often hears Blake saying, "Oh little guy...it's okay. We'll come get you in a minute." Or she'll just say, "little guy, little guy...it's okay." She used to refer to him as her "brother sister" (becasue people would ask her if she had a brother or sister) but she seems to be getting the idea that he's her brother. Lauren was texting with her mom the other day and wasn't paying attention to Blake & Wyatt who were playing on the floor. When Lauren finally looked up, this is what she saw. Thank goodness for camera phones...that was definitely a Kodak moment. Here's another camera phone pic of Wyatt hanging out the other day. In other news, Blake is doing great on her potty training. We go weeks at a time between accidents, but she is still wearing a pull up at night. We'll take it for now. We've heard a lot of people say that getting through the night pretty much comes whenever the child is ready, so I guess we'll just wait to see when she starts showing signs of being able to do so. It's cold and rainy/snowy here, so it looks like we'll be inside for most of this week :( Oh well, Spring HAS to come eventually, right?!

Quite Literally

Well, it's been a while since we last posted and we have a lot more for stories than for pictures, so we'll just start with Wyatt. First of all, our little flirt LOVES to smile and coo, and he's already into 6 month clothing. He looks like quite the chub-a-bub, and he is very vocal. He can't even breathe quietly - such a loud little bugger. He has also started saying "ma". He has no clue what he's saying yet, but it's too cute when that little sound comes out. Here's a picture of our little guy hanging out on the monkey bean bag. Where to start with Blake?! Oh goodness, this child is going to keep Lauren on her toes. Blake seems to have quite the memory. She remembers a lot of interesting details (especially people's names), so we'll just have to see how that plays out as she gets older. Blake also takes everything you say very literally. She was watching a cartoon called Little Bill where one of the kids said that if you didn't know how to tie your shoes they would jump off your feet and run away. Blake was VERY concerned that she didn't know how to tie her shoes. After fretting about it for nearly and hour and seperating out all of her shoes with laces (the ones she couldn't "tie"), she eventually just took the shoes laces out. Guess that solved the problem of not being able to tie them ;) Another "Blake" story: Lauren almost always drinks her Dr. Pepper in an Eskimo Joe's cup at the house. The other morning Lauren had on a pair of Eskimo Joe pajama pants with the logo embroidered on the leg. Blake said (pointing to the logo), "what that on your leg?" Then she answered herself, "that a puppy (pointing to Buffy) and that Dr. Pepper (pointing to Eskimo Joe)". Lauren about fell over laughing. We've also been trying to teach Blake not to interrupt when someone is talking. The other day Bob and Lauren finished a conversation and Bob finally went to acknowledge Blake and he said, "OK...whatcha got?" meaning what do you want to tell us now. She looked at him and said, "I got cracker" and held a cracker up to show him. Again, VERY literal with this one. Blake has also started to really catch on to emotions. She can now understand when she's getting a "grumpy face" and she can usually avoid a fit by telling me why she's grumpy. Yesterday, Blake was screwing around at lunch and was acting like she was accidentally dumping her soup on the table (but she was doing it on purpose) and she was using the wrong end of her spoon - just being silly. Finally after several warnings, Lauren threw Blake's soup away in the sink. Blake said, "Momma, why you so grumpy?" As soon as Bob got home that evening, Blake told him, "Momma really grumpy...she throw my soup in sink cuz she grumpy." What a little tattle tale?! Well, it's finally getting a little nicer around here, so Blake has had more opportunities to go outside. She comes back in the house about every 20 minutes or so of being outside to change shoes...not really sure why, but she can't seem to just pick one pair. It's kinda funny. Lauren also gets the chance to listen to Blake playing with the dogs in the back yard. She often tells the dogs "how better Grandma, Grampy, Chris, Katie house are". Then she usually starts listing reasons why, "poxers (popsicles), bubbles, fun." And Lauren has heard Blake ask Copa several times, "wanna go homa homa with me?" Blake also plays out the movies and cartoons that she's watched. One of her new favorites is The Land Before Time, so Lauren gets to hear all about Little Foot, Sarah, Ducky, Peatrie, Spike and how "Mudder" (Little Foot's mother) went to the great valley, so they have to find her. It's pretty cute. She also let out quite the scream while watching one day. It was a part where the T-Rex was chasing the little dinosaurs...guess she just really got into it ;) Here's a picture of our little girl playing outside the other day. Bob & Lauren have been staying busy with work and the kiddos, but all is going well here. Bob even takes the time in the evenings to cuddle his little boy or even help with a bottle or diaper change. Hope all is well with everyone!
