Well, it's been a while since we last posted and we have a lot more for stories than for pictures, so we'll just start with Wyatt. First of all, our little flirt LOVES to smile and coo, and he's already into 6 month clothing. He looks like quite the chub-a-bub, and he is very vocal. He can't even breathe quietly - such a loud little bugger. He has also started saying "ma". He has no clue what he's saying yet, but it's too cute when that little sound comes out. Where to start with Blake?! Oh goodness, this child is going to keep Lauren on her toes. Blake seems to have quite the memory. She remembers a lot of interesting details (especially people's names), so we'll just have to see how that plays out as she gets older. Blake also takes everything you say very literally. She was watching a cartoon called Little Bill where one of the kids said that if you didn't know how to tie your shoes they would jump off your feet and run away. Blake was VERY concerned that she didn't know how to tie her shoes. After fretting about it for nearly and hour and seperating out all of her shoes with laces (the ones she couldn't "tie"), she eventually just took the shoes laces out. Guess that solved the problem of not being able to tie them ;) Another "Blake" story: Lauren almost always drinks her Dr. Pepper in an Eskimo Joe's cup at the house. The other morning Lauren had on a pair of Eskimo Joe pajama pants with the logo embroidered on the leg. Blake said (pointing to the logo), "what that on your leg?" Then she answered herself, "that a puppy (pointing to Buffy) and that Dr. Pepper (pointing to Eskimo Joe)". Lauren about fell over laughing. We've also been trying to teach Blake not to interrupt when someone is talking. The other day Bob and Lauren finished a conversation and Bob finally went to acknowledge Blake and he said, "OK...whatcha got?" meaning what do you want to tell us now. She looked at him and said, "I got cracker" and held a cracker up to show him. Again, VERY literal with this one. Blake has also started to really catch on to emotions. She can now understand when she's getting a "grumpy face" and she can usually avoid a fit by telling me why she's grumpy. Yesterday, Blake was screwing around at lunch and was acting like she was accidentally dumping her soup on the table (but she was doing it on purpose) and she was using the wrong end of her spoon - just being silly. Finally after several warnings, Lauren threw Blake's soup away in the sink. Blake said, "Momma, why you so grumpy?" As soon as Bob got home that evening, Blake told him, "Momma really grumpy...she throw my soup in sink cuz she grumpy." What a little tattle tale?! Well, it's finally getting a little nicer around here, so Blake has had more opportunities to go outside. She comes back in the house about every 20 minutes or so of being outside to change shoes...not really sure why, but she can't seem to just pick one pair. It's kinda funny. Lauren also gets the chance to listen to Blake playing with the dogs in the back yard. She often tells the dogs "how better Grandma, Grampy, Chris, Katie house are". Then she usually starts listing reasons why, "poxers (popsicles), bubbles, fun." And Lauren has heard Blake ask Copa several times, "wanna go homa homa with me?" Blake also plays out the movies and cartoons that she's watched. One of her new favorites is The Land Before Time, so Lauren gets to hear all about Little Foot, Sarah, Ducky, Peatrie, Spike and how "Mudder" (Little Foot's mother) went to the great valley, so they have to find her. It's pretty cute. She also let out quite the scream while watching one day. It was a part where the T-Rex was chasing the little dinosaurs...guess she just really got into it ;) Here's a picture of our little girl playing outside the other day.
Bob & Lauren have been staying busy with work and the kiddos, but all is going well here. Bob even takes the time in the evenings to cuddle his little boy or even help with a bottle or diaper change.
