Tired of Listening
We've taken a few more pictures the last couple days. Lauren has especially been taking a lot of pictures on her phone. It's amazing what two years of technology can do. We don't have any pictures of Blake taken off of a phone, and poor Wyatt might not get as many off of the digital camera like all of Blake's. Here's our little guy sporting some elephant jammies in his crib.
Blake still LOVES to go outside whenever the weather is decent enough for her to do so. She played really hard the other day and when she came in, she CRASHED!
Wyatt has been doing a pretty good job of sleeping at night. He fights naps during the day and rarely sleeps for more than an hour at a time with the exception of one good 2-3 hour nap around 2 p.m. or so. He's also able to pull the pacifier out of his own mouth now, so that doesn't help. Last night he slept for 9 hours straight, though! He usually goes to bed around 7 p.m., so Lauren is hoping that he keeps sleeping a little bit longer every night until he's a 7-7 baby like Blake was (well, Blake was more like 6:30-5)...fingers crossed. The last three nights he's slept an hour longer than the night before, so let's hope he keeps that pace up ;) Wyatt also likes talking, cooing and he really likes taking his baths. Here's a closeup of our little guy after a bath.
Blake is really starting to show off her personality. You can just see her attitude in pictures and especially when you're dealing with her in person. In fact, yesterday she said to Lauren, "I'm tired of listening to you, Mom." Lauren wasn't expecting that phrase to come out until closer to the teenage years...sheesh! Here's little miss priss eating some fruit loops on the couch.
Blake is very sweet to Wyatt. She talks to him and comforts him when he's fussy. Lauren often hears Blake saying, "Oh little guy...it's okay. We'll come get you in a minute." Or she'll just say, "little guy, little guy...it's okay." She used to refer to him as her "brother sister" (becasue people would ask her if she had a brother or sister) but she seems to be getting the idea that he's her brother. Lauren was texting with her mom the other day and wasn't paying attention to Blake & Wyatt who were playing on the floor. When Lauren finally looked up, this is what she saw.
Thank goodness for camera phones...that was definitely a Kodak moment. Here's another camera phone pic of Wyatt hanging out the other day.
In other news, Blake is doing great on her potty training. We go weeks at a time between accidents, but she is still wearing a pull up at night. We'll take it for now. We've heard a lot of people say that getting through the night pretty much comes whenever the child is ready, so I guess we'll just wait to see when she starts showing signs of being able to do so. It's cold and rainy/snowy here, so it looks like we'll be inside for most of this week :( Oh well, Spring HAS to come eventually, right?!
