Gates & Smiles

Blake has a new fascination with building "gates" all throughout the house. Basically, she lines objects up across any opening to make a "gate". We have no clue where she picked this up, and it actually seems somewhat odd. O WELL! Here are some of her recent constructions. This one is a little more advanced. It's hard to see in the picture, but she actually has two gates in one here. There is one going from the dishwasher (the end where the shoes are) to the oven and another branching off to the chair leg.
Another smaller gate between two kitchen chairs
Using clothes to create a gate from the stroller to the washer - the camera case and wipes case must have been leftover materials that she didn't need to use ;)

Another gate...Lauren LOVES how Blake put her sippy cup at the end of the blanket to finish off the gate - what a weirdo!
Blake's gate building may soon be discouraged as both Lauren and Bob are extremely tired of finding things all over the floor. Lauren gets especially irritated at 3 a.m. when she's stumbling through the house trying to feed/change Wyatt. It's surprising we haven't had an accident yet.

Blake playing with Lauren's iPod touch while lounging around - gotta love her uncontrollable mop
Wyatt has started smiling and cooing more often, but we've had a hard time catching a good smile on camera. Here's our little man playing ball in the pack n play.
As you can see in the picture above, we've been using a lot of Blake's old blankets for Wyatt. The poor guy has already seen a lot of pink in his day, so Lauren decided to make him a little quilt of his own. This is Lauren's first official quilt by the way. It turned out pretty good considering she just used scraps from her other sewing projects.
And here's the back of the quilt. Have a happy Sunday!
